Acepurin®

Acepurin (allopurinol) inhibits xanthine-oxidase thereby inhibiting the uric acid production. Due to its ability to lower uric acid levels, Acepurin is prescribed for conditions associated with increased uric acid levels in blood or urine. Examples are gout and certain kidney stones.

In hospital settings, Acepurin is used to prevent uric acid formation before and during treatment with certain cytostatics.
