Nipruss®

Nipruss (nitroprusside sodium dihydrate) is licensed for the treatment of hypertensive crisis in adults and controlled intraoperative hypotension in adults.

Nipruss contains 60 mg nitroprusside sodium dihydrate, equivalent to 53 mg nitroprusside sodium anhydrous. A syringe pump (Perfusor) or Infusomat can be used for administration. A dosage table is included in the SmPC.

The powder for solution for infusion (the content of the brown ampoule corresponds to 60 mg sodium nitroprusside dihydrate) is dissolved in water for injection or in a 5% glucose solution.
